The Battle of Orgreave.
Glad to see Amber Rudd say there was no case to answer.

Good to see Andy Burnham jumping on another bandwagon.

So the facts are these ( miners version )......they turned up at Orgreave with flowers in their hair, singing peace songs and meditating peacefully then the nasty pugs turned up and battered the shit out of them with truncheons, they couldn't fight back as they don't believe in forceful resistance.

I was a teenager at the time watching it on the news and what I saw was both sides going at it hammer and tong, a good old fashioned scrap.

Nobody died, nobody got seriously injured and no one was imprisoned.

Well done Amber Rudd for saving the tax payer money.

I well remember it.

A battle between Scargill's Red Army and Margaret Thatcher's [ state funded ] Private Army.

Can't imagine why people might have think they have lied and falsified charges.

More OBFUSCATING from the heirs of the Thatcher jackboot.

Maybe Ken Loach can make a film about it. Double bill with his other pole of whining bullshit I Danial Blake!

Loads of miners turn up for a tear up, get a good spanking then never stop moaning about. No sympathy for these cunts trying to hold the country to ransom.

Rudd, Salmon, Sturgeon, Gordon Brown Trout - any more?

Tories in wont open an enquiry shocker...theres a surprise. Nothing to do with what they might find I suppose?

Re: The Battle of Orgreave.
Why waste loads of public money on an enquiry when, because it was over thirty years ago, nothing will be done about it anyway?

Re: The Battle of Orgreave.
As opposed to Labour, opening an inquiry then promising the person running it a peerage and shadow cabinet position so said person will be nice about them.

Not that THAT would ever happen.

I loved watching it on the news, inspired me to join the Police.

The miners strike was legendary because of the punch ups and the amount of money coppers made from it. My tutor Constable made enough to pay off his mortgage.

I know a retired copper who did some stints in Yorkshire during the miner's strike. He seems to have different views to stoneman.
